Grand Finale Showtime


We had so much fun at St Mary's Ballygunner as all 5th classes prepared to entertain their guest class. The Treble Island story and songs went down well  See the previous post for the story. Here are the songs we presented today.

Week 5 Putting It All Together

We worked the five chords covered in this course C7 C Am F and G7 and revised our songs for next weeks end of module performance.


Remember there is a difference between singing a song and performing. Next week we will be performing.

Tales from Treble Island                                                       


1 *Once upon a time there lived a happy group of folk on Treble Island.   There were lots
of coconut and lime trees on the island. One day Harry made a coconut and lime smoothie but it gave him a belly ache Coconut Song

One day 2 There was only one way to get off Treble island and that was to Row Row Row Your Boat although you had to watch out for some strange animals!  Row Row Your Boat!

3* Even the animals were musical on Treble Island. In a field lived a very vain donkey  Ceol ars an t-asal

4 Every morning the men of the island put out to sea in fishing boats. They liked to sing seas shanties while they worked on the decks . So what do you do with a drunken sailor – listen and you’ll find out! Drunken Sailor

5 On days when the  waves grew higher and the wind blew hard the their families waited anxiously on the shore looking out to sea   Cue Tá na  Baid .
6 One day an islander set out in his little boat to the neighbouring island of Gola. On the way Baidin Fheilimi  ran into a storm .
* Not every one was happy on the island and in Treble Town lived a boy who grew up to be an angry young man This is a song by Rock group Queen We Will Rock You
On the island lived a family who lived in a very unusual home. They lived in a yellow submarine
On the Northern part of the island lived a family of sharks  One day they decided to go hunting!.

Just off the shore On the Southern part of the island lived an octopus.  The octopus had a sea garden under the waves.
